Getting started

Drag the box from your inventory to the ground and click on it to open. Copy the contents into your inventory and pick up the box.

Simply 'wear' the parts of the unpacked avatar and you're ready to go. Please note that the box doesn't contain clothes, so if you just drag the folder onto yourself you'll end up slightly naked...

The avatar is designed to fit the male and female shapes (included) - for this reason, if you use your own shape and you are very tall or very small, the body and hind legs may not be at the right height. Move it up or down in edit mode until the back hooves are level with the front hooves, or for best results adjust your avatar's legs and hip length until the hooves meet the floor.

You may find that a different gender body to your own fits better. There's no difference in the 'plumbing', just in the size and fit!

Centaur Avatar HUD

1. Hide - Clicking the 'hide' button will minimise the HUD to a subtle 'show' button in the top left. Clicking the 'show' button will reveal the HUD again
2. Notes - toggle hoofbeat sounds / off
3. Cloud - toggle dust / off
4. Prints - toggle hoof prints / off

You can also toggle these features in chat:

/1soundon or /1soundoff
/1duston or /1dustoff
/1hoofon or /1hoofoff

Part and Full AO HUD

This controls your animations. Two HUDs are included with your avatar so you can choose how to use it.

Full - contains full upper and lower body priority 4 animations

Part - contains lower body priority 4 animations to allow you to use in combination with priority 3 animations so you can use your own AO.

Exactly what it says on the tin. You generally won't need to use these buttons, but sometimes it's useful to force a reset, or turn off your AO - for example, when you're using the Saddle System.

Random sounds

Turn random sounds on or off by clicking the back of the avatar and choosing on or off from the dialog box

You can add your own sounds to the random sound list by simply dragging them into the parent prim - the back - of the Centaur body.

Customisation

As with all Hoof It avatars, the centaur is modifiable so you can customise it as you wish.

It works using a system of 'hidden legs'. To make a change to a leg, and have it show in every position, you need to edit all the hidden legs too. This is best done on the ground with the transparency of all parts set to 0, not while you're wearing the centaur - or every time you move the legs will hide themselves again!

Permissions

The Centaur avatar is fully mod and copy (with the exception of the scripts and animations which are copy only) - this allows you to customise it as you wish, and make backup copies in case anything goes wrong. Please, make a copy before you modify anything!

If you'd like to give an avatar as a gift, gift certificates are available in the main Hoof It store, or you can use the 'buy as gift' feature for my products on Xstreet SL.

Refunds

Since the avatars are copy/no transfer I can't provide refunds - all sales are final.

If a part gets broken when you're making alterations, I can replace that piece, but it'd be really nice if I didn't have to so PLEASE make a copy of your av before you do anything to it!

FAQ

When I move my upper body thrashes around all over the place!
You're wearing the Part AO HUD, with no upper body animations in it, designed to be worn in combination with other low priority animations. If you're not doing this, wear the Full AO HUD.

Where's my HUD?!
If you don't wear your HUDs in their default position, they may attach rotated so that you cannot see the front face and buttons. If you need to wear them elsewhere because they're clashing with another HUD attachment, please be aware that they may attach incorrectly and you'll have to rotate them in edit mode until you can see the front face.
For a quick fix, unpack a new copy from your box and just 'wear' it.

The HUD gets in the way :(
Press the Hide button to minimise your HUD. Pressing it again will expand it.

None of my HUD buttons are working!
If the parcel you're in does not allow scripts to run, you may not be able to use some features of your avatar. Look for the 'no scripts' symbol at the top of your window.

I keep getting the message 'cannot create object'. How can I make it shut up?
If the parcel you're in does not allow for creation of objects and you have hoofprints turned on, you'll get this message when you move and your avatar tries to leave a hoofprint. Turn them off using the button on the bottom of your HUD.

When I sit down, my legs sometimes stop 'sitting'
If your avatar moves (you may not even see it happen) the legs get the message "I'm not sitting any more!" and stand up - even though you're still in the sitting pose. I am working on a fix for this. In the meantime, stand up and sit down again.

Will you make me a custom colour / swishy tail / something else?
Sorry, but no. I just don't have the time to do custom work right now! If you need a hand fitting your avatar to your shape I'll try to help, but I can't take custom requests.
