Where did Summer go? Oh well... at least it's a pretty time of year. And here's a reminder to share your horsey photos with us in the Hoof It Flickr group :)
Livery Stable Reservations
7 September 2009
When there's loads free, nobody wants one. As soon as they're full, we find out someone missed out!
If you want a stable, tell myself (Erin), Darky or Rixi - we'll put you on the list. Then when a stable is free, we'll reserve it to the first person on the list. If you can come rent it within 24 hours, great - if you can't, we'll reserve if for the next person on the list for a day, and so on, until there's nobody left and then it'll be open to anyone to rent.
I'm not trying to give the impression that OMG we're SO popular we NEED a waiting list! O.O But... one or two people have asked, and because I didn't know, they missed their chance, so I think this is fairer. So once again - if you think you'd like a stable in the Hoof It livery yard, for yourself or your riding horse, let one of us know and I'll put you on the list.
Sandbox open
7 September 2009
For a trial period, I'm opening up the riding school for use as a public sandbox. You can use this space for your building projects, but I ask that you just follow a few rules:
3 Hour autoreturn
Please take regular copies of your work so you don't risk losing it.
If you do, we can't help, sorry!
Play nice!
If you cause trouble, you'll be removed!
If anyone else deliberately tries to spoil things for you, please file an abuse report and then contact Erin Talamasca with the details.
Play nice! #2
The sandbox is RIGHT behind the sales barn and avatar shed. Please be polite in open chat - if you think it * might * offend, keep it in IM.
Keep it inside!
If your new toy is too big to fit within the fence, it's too big to work on here - sorry.
That includes things that tower above the barn! Please keep your work here to a reasonable size and remember that other people might want to use the space, too.
This is a small sandbox for small projects - there are plenty of larger spaces elsewhere if you need them :)
Hopefully this space will be of use to those who don't have their own land (or don't want to work in larger, more chaotic sandboxes!). Let me know if you have any problems (or suggestions) and we'll see how it goes! Enjoy :)
August XC Competition Winners
7 September 2009
Sorry for the slightly longer competition this time, I'm afraid I was stuck having fun on holiday without an internet connection!
Anyway, without further ado, congratulations and thanks to everyone who entered the August XC comp. First place went to Darky on Courageous Spaz with a time of 01:29.12. In second was Yariss on Tankers with a time of 01:50.38, and in third Lieke riding Diana with 02:24.92. Congrats!
You can see the full results here.
The September cross country is an average time competition, which means giving it a strong ride and keeping a steady pace from start to finish - the fastest time won't necessarily be the winning time. As always the competition will be strong and the prizes somewhat larger to compensate :) Good luck!
