Market Close & Party Photos
31 October 2009

All good things come to an end, and I hope you'll agree that the Autumn Creators' Market was a very good thing. We've seen some fantastic products, a lot of new work, and some new builders too. I hope that those of you who had stall made some good sales - and those who came to shop made some great purchases :D And I hope everybody had fun and made some friends, too.

Here at Hoof It we like to finish things with a bit of a bang, and the costume party could safely be described as just that! DJ Geerkil joined us for the first time and kept us dancing to tunes and requests, while voting opened for the Pumpkin Mod Comp. The winners chosen were as follows:

Position Entry Votes
1 Nova Vesperia 6
2 Betta Zepp 4
3 Leya Leistone 3

The full results are here. Congrats to everyone who took part - those were some excellent and creative entries!

The costume competition was a blast, with some really funny and clever costumes. An exceptionally generous donation from Pegasus bumped up the prize money to a shocking L$5500 for fist place, L$3300 to second, and L$2200 to third! And generous voting meant that although there was only one winner, there were six in second place and three in third!

Position Name Votes
1 ChuckMAX Foxclaw 4
2 Fressa Oatsmill 2
2 LadyJess Przhevalsky 2
2 Geerkil Ziskey 2
2 Dancer Edenflower 2
2 Nova Vesperia 2
2 Aladar Horsforth 2
3 Trau Suising 1
3 Rixinshi Spire 1
3 Darky Delacroix 1

Congratulations Chuck, you silly, silly horse, and to everyone else, too :) See the full results here.

Now, I suppose you'd like to see some pictures of our winners, and of the party?

Oh, go on then ;D

We get some incredible products at the Creators' markets, and the Show 'n' Tell is a great opportunity to see those products first-hand, out of the vendor, and chat with the people who made them. Thanks to everyone who was brave enough to hop up on stage and talk to us! Enjoy the snaps...

11 October 2009
pumpkin mod

Halloween's approaching, so we're starting early with some pumpkin carving! Grab some instructions and a pumpkin from the sign by the barn (or from group notices) and get creative. You have 20 prims to use, and can build as big as 5x5x5m. Just keep 'em PG ;D

Let me (Erin Talamasca) know if you want to take part before Sat 25 October.

You'll be asked to display your entry in the riding school in the final market week, 26-29 October.

The winners will be chosen by public vote at the End of Market and Halloween party on Friday 30 October.

Let's see what weird and twisted Halloween ideas you've got in yer heads :D

Team Roping! Saturday 10th, 3pm
8 October 2009
team roping

Yee-haw! This Saturday (October 10th) at 3:00pm SLT we'll be hosting a Team Roping event in the paddock!

Team Roping is an equine sport that involves TWO players, so find a partner and bring them down with ya if you plan to compete! (If you don't have a partner, we can supply you with one... but ye may wish we didn't! XD) But yes, we can try to match people who are partnerless.

How does one Team Rope in SL? Come by on Saturday to figure it out ;D It's.. unique.. to say the least!

Autumn Creator's Market
7 October 2009
market

Autumn is here, or Fall if you like, and our seasonal market is approaching. I'm sending out applications through the group - if you fancy taking part, even if you're not totally sure, fill one out anyway and get it back to me (Erin), Darky or Rixinshi before Friday 16th October. I'll ask all vendors to set up that weekend (17-18th) - the market runs for the last two weeks of the month.

If you've not been to one of our Creators' Markets before, you've missed a lot of fun - check out what we got up to at the Spring and Summer events! The Markets were started with the intention of providing rent-free vendor space to new creators - people who haven't sold their work before, or can't afford rent in a mall - basically anyone who needs a helping hand getting started with selling their work. If you know someone who's not in the group who makes equestrian products and might be interested in taking part, please pass them a copy of the application!

We welcome established creators as well, so whoever you are, if you made it, and it's horsey - join in the fun! We'll be holding plenty of events to help new sellers prepare their products for sale, and to bring more customers into the tent and closer to your vendors! And if you're more of a shopper than a seller, I don't need to tell you that the market will be an excellent place to pick up equestrian items and perhaps find products you've never seen before!

Return your application soon if you'd like a stall - you can change your mind if you don't want to take part, but we can't guarantee you a spot if you don't let us know before the 16th :)
