28 November 2009
The end of the year is approaching and in December we'll be holding the Championship competitions for the 2008-09 Cross Country comps.
How do I qualify?
If you've placed first, second of third in any of our competitions since December last year, you'll automatically qualify for the Championship.
If you placed in a Speed Trial competition, you qualify for the Speed Trial Championship. Same with Average Time - and if you placed in at least
one of each, you qualify for both Championships. I will send notecard reminders to everyone who has qualified.
How do I enter?
If you have qualified, you will be automatically entered in the appropriate Championship when you enter the Cross Country competition in December.
If you qualified in a Speed Trial, your results will be posted to both the December results table, and the Speed Trial Championship table.
I qualified for both. Won't my Speed Trial score be too fast for the Average Time Championship?
Quite possibly. If you get one very fast run, you may want to enter again to get a more 'steady' score for the Average Time Championship. All your scores
will be listed in both results tables, but each is judged seperately and a steady time that won't win the Speed competition may do very well in the
Average Time.
Aaaw, I didn't qualify!
It's not the end of the month yet, and there's still time to enter the November XC competition! First, second and third place winners will qualify for the Average
Time Championship.
What about the normal December competition?
That's still running. Everyone who competes in December will be entered in the December Speed Trial (including Championship entries - so you could win both!). The
winners will qualify for the 2009-10 Championships next December.
What are the prizes?
Great big rosettes and trophies to the top three in each Championship, plus 1st place wins an enormous L$2,000.
Second prize winners will each get L$1,000, and third L$600. Noice!
Horse Avatar Update
28 November 2009
A little update that will make it easier for your horse to be a pegasus (flight) and an all-terrain vehicle. The addition of a new button on the AO HUD means that you're able to turn on and off the speed boost - good for getting over tricky terrain, and it also means you'll be able to enter competitions where speed boosts are not permitted.
Updates can be collected from the sign by the avatar vendor. Make sure you're wearing the av you want to update, and give the button a click.
You may also notice the new updates page button in the menu. I'll be listing any product updates that are available, the date they were released (so if you bought one before then you know you need a new copy!), and the parts affected - so, for example, although you'll get a whole new horse avatar, you need only replace the parts that have changed - handy if you've done a huge mod job and don't want to have to redo the lot!
Livery Group trail ride
16 November 2009
Darky hosted a trail ride at her own Ryder Meadow - pictures are here :) Enjoy!
(We currently still have one free stable in the yard if you're interested! Riding horses and horse avatars all welcome :D)
New Horse - Leif
6 November 2009
Bold and surefooted, Fjord pony Leif will be sure to carry you safely wherever you wish to go, and make the journey a lot of fun. Strong enough to carry adults, and calm enough to carry children, he's the idea companion or workhorse. Just ask - he'll be happy to help!
October XC Competition Winners
1 November 2009
Looks like the cooler weather is making those horses fresh! Some great times from our competitors this month.
Congratulations to Aleksie who came first with a time of 01:42.20. In second was Bloodsong on Sonofogun with a time of 02:29.12 (creeping up a place from last month's XC!) and in third Rixinshi riding SuspiciousPony with 02:17.32.
Well done to our winners, and thanks to everyone who took part.
You can see the full results here.
The November cross country is an average time competition - a bit of a challenge, with prizes to match. Entries are open now - good luck :D
